The Scheu Cello is our highly sought-after, wonderful entry-level turntable that sounds far more expensive than it is. The goal of its development was to transfer the renowned virtues of the Premier as much as possible to a particularly compact and visually appealing turntable with an integrated drive unit. We use the same high-quality bearing as in the larger Premier. Sonically, the Cello is a truly mature turntable, delivering a powerful drive, great musicality, and subtle resolution. The Cello is designed exclusively for 9-inch tonearms and features a 30 mm platter.
Due to its relatively small dimensions of 42.5 cm in width and 33 cm in depth, the drive can be placed even in the smallest of spaces and feels particularly comfortable on wall mounts.
We also recommend the Solo Base from SSC for this device, which you can purchase from specialist retailers.
This active engagement with my cellist also changes my own attitude towards music: it regains its dignity.

The sound
This thing just swings! A balanced and natural sound image; with the included tonearm/cartridge combination, the small turntable is far from being fully utilized and will be even more enjoyable with later upgrades, for example by using Cantus with MC Scheu S.

Press reviews
"The Cello is certainly not a budget player. To my own surprise, I was particularly impressed by its sound in the standard version with the Rega 250 tonearm and the Ortofon Super OM10 MM cartridge."
